I wasn't entirely convinced it was that either . . . but it certainly wasn't a snapped crank, no.

Hmm fair doos, still very bad news though!!


after conferring with some people in the know, and showing them the most damaged main bearing, apparently its a classic wear pattern from a bent crank shaft - the bearings at the opposite end to the bend show the most wear, consistent with the nose of the crank being bent.

Seriously though, there has to be something that has caused such catastrophic wear in the time / miles.
