V & Crest - - Keep

I was thinking keep the "V" - lose the crest (the rear crest is damaged and replacements are £££'s)
Quoting: FUBAR
Bonnet Fins - - You could actually get away with removing these... it might not look too bad.

Currently 50/50 on these.
Quoting: FUBAR
Scoops - - No no no no no

I am planning on getting a spare bonnet but that's a different story . . . <wink>
Quoting: FUBAR
Scallops - - Keep Definately & add painted bits you talked about

Yup.
Quoting: FUBAR
SDV Badge - - yeah this could probably go

Definately going.
Quoting: FUBAR
Cadillac Name - - You'd said about removing this, and i think it would look ok

Actually I don't remember saying I'm removing them (?) - they'll stay as long as they're not damaged in the refurb.
Quoting: FUBAR
Fingers - - Keep definately

Staying.
Quoting: FUBAR
Dagmar tips - -

Not sure yet.  Never considered changing them until I saw this piccy . . .
Quoting: FUBAR
Oh, and Grille - - Keep & Polish

Keep, Yes . . . . . . But I have a plan, there, to . . . .

Quoting: Point and Squirt Racing
not sure about adding the hood scoops

Not to my bonnet . . . . But as a side project I may consider it on an additional bonnet at a later date . . . as I say - I have a plan . . . .

Interior - Some I can do, some I can't. This'll be the last job so not bothered at the moment.

when i can afford it (on a similar timescale to your's no doubt) that is who is having my car for a new interior. I met the guy at my friends wedding (he's a family friend) and he really knows his stuff

So do I but mine still cost me £2k cash to get painted. Although if your not worried about the paint finish i guess it could be done cheaper

I will use pam brown who is local to me, she trimmed my saab in leather and is stupidly cheap. She mainly retrims private aircraft but also some cars. She re trimmed geoffs 62 bonneville for him

Yeah.  I couldn't be bother to type anymore.

Brakes are pretty good.

Master cylinder needs refurb $180 from memory.
New Slave cylinder kits (not a lot) new shoes (maybe - the old ones are pretty good).
New lines brake S/S = $179.00, Fuel S/S = $119.00.
Engine - I need to speak to T&L . . . I have some of the bits already.
Suspension - As previously priced.

I don't want a "show finish", No.  I'm realistic, at least.
I know people who repair Porsches (sp) and Mercs all day . . . and they know the people who run the paint suppliers in MK.

The prices for paint you quoted were stupidly high compared to what I've been quoted / brought in the past.

THats the current prices mate, you can buy celulose for less but i wanted 2k acrylic. Paint is the most expensive part. Those prices included 40% discount as well

I think from memory, the paint side of Martyns GMC was about £40-£50 . . .  that was for a wing and two (large) doors.

Metallic and Mixed for the job.

But, of course, that could be a fluke.  As I say - I need to speak to people first.

id guess you could do most of the prep work yourself and probably even prime it to save a wedge of money.  The difference in quotes was huge when compared with a full respray including prep..

but then what do i know... i painted my truck with a 3" brush

What's peoples opinion on wheels . . . . . . . . ?

Quoting: Roadkill
a) Keep the original wheels and hub caps . . . . Add White Walls*.
b) Keep the original wheels but powder coat/spray them to off-set the coachwork - Add White Walls*.
c) Go alloys and put 15" rims WITH white walls* tyres.
d) Go alloys and put 17" rims without white band/walls . . .

Well i went 17" steel smoothies. I couldnt face the TTII route as its been done to death also billets are to much of a PITA to deal with again expect to kiss good bye to £500+ on a set of rims. If your gonna keep a 15" i would just refurb your originals ie re gold plate and chrome
