I'm guessing it's something on show as the joins look too clean for something merely structural . . .

If it's a gate i'm hoping you have some EPIC hinges . . . . ! !

i have plenty of pics.....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/tongue.gif)

if i had a level drive way it would be done by now,(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/rolleyes.gif)..but projects are never that easy....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/can.gif)

the drive was extended years b4 i got here,
and was 3 inches higher on one side, which would put a strain on the motor to start opening the gate,
so i broke up the concrete,  and removed two huge shrubs and tree roots,
 hence the soil everywhere,(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)

then decided to dig down to the original footings, add the concrete post, then pour concrete to tie it all together,

when ive finished the concrete i will fit the 6m track

They are talking about this on 'the other forum' weirdly and someone suggested solar-powered gates which save you having to run power to the gate (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/chiny.gif)

http://www.theelectricgateshop.co.uk/Category-112/solar-powered-gate-opener

Seems quite cool, although I presume you would have to renew the battery at certain points and you couldn't just use a fiver jobby from the scrappy (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/chiny.gif)

Are you worried about the guide-rail at the bottom getting blocked in the winter with ice?

Does it have any hazard monitoring to stop the stray neighbour kids getting squashed in it? For example if it feels any resistance, does the motor stop? (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/dontknow.gif)

works well for our corner plot garden keeps various undesirable pikeys at bay,
built it all in for around  £230 ...(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
120 for the motor system,£80 for the timber and 30 bucks for odds an sods,

there is a pair of sensors across the opening that stop the gate if there broken...much to the amusement to my daft neighbour .....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/tongue.gif)

the motor also stops and reverses, if the gate hits something,

all in all a great product that has worked well for 2 years...,(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif)

the snow was no problem,
until a lot build up and the gate squashes it up against the buffer ...hardly a major issue ...

the bus has had a bit of welding and im considering an engine conversion...(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/chiny.gif)...
