Well,

seeing as some people know about it, and some don't I thought it was a good idea to make a project post so I could keep all my links and pics in one place.

I traded the 4th gen camaro for this fox, which has since been sold to a German dealer... very odd....  I MUCH prefer this to the camaro already, and it's only been a week!!!!

It's a 1988 Mustang GT, goes very well now the timing has been set correctly and sounds incredible... Got flowmasters on it as the old exhaust had rotted though !!!

The exterior is in need of a lot of work, it wants a full respray which Rocky will be taking on in the very near future.  Mechanically it all seems ok, it had a brand new a/c compressor and service before I bought it, along with new shocks, brakes and front lights.

I have a BIG shopping list for the car already, nothing aftermarket as far as can be helped.  Its not going to be heavily modified as its my daily car now, and it wont be a show car as i need to take it to tescos etc.  The shopping list is mainly things like non 'cheese grater' rear lamps and new headlights, wether seals, emblems, that kind of thing, just to freshen it up...

So, here are some pics....

so far all ive done is give it a polish, put a set of mats in it to protect the carpets (as they are mint) and make a list of all the bits i want.

The only thing I think it needs is a new torque converter as this one doesn't seem to be locking up.  Might not help that its got way too much fluid in it though, so I'll try taking some out before I go ordering things!

So far though, I'm very happy with the car !!!!

the saleen is in progress... i've been tampering with the maps in what little spare time I've had over the past 18 months.... looking at saving up a few hundred quid and booking a dyno session very soon.....

but back to this, the rear lights do need to be changed and it looks good in the pics, but in real life, it REALLY wants a repaint.

FAO Rocky: I found someone to soda blast all the plastics, so that's a weeks worth of rubbing down saved

I like the cheese grater lights on dark paint colours, but not light ones.

If you ever change wheels, let me know.

Fox mustangs are so practical. Plenty of space inside for four people, and even five can fit (I've done it). Plus the hatch back space is *huge*.
All that and they are faster than camaro's too.

Can plastic bumpers be rattle can'd? Or do they need some special stuff on them?

I like 'em from the outside, not my favourite, but they're ok. I don't like the interior though, just too Ford Escort for me

I just think they could have done more

well, i have 2 options,

1/ i can strip all the plastics off the car and take it to a site where they are working. eg. cleaning the grime of some old building, lay it all out there on the floor and they'll do it for £100 !

2/ they'll come to me, and do it all while it's still on the car for £300

problem is, they work mostly in central london so getting large chunks of car to them will be a right pain.  Im leaning towards having them do it here, most of it on the car, i'll take some of the small bits off though and lay them on the driveway

I like the stock wheels actually.

But those do look rather tasty in "shiney".

But how practical are they gonna be on a daily?

that's my only concern. i mean, they're factory chrome so they should be coated against salt et, but it does stand out a bit.....  I think that pics is emphasised by the tints and cowl hood though...  As wheels go, the ones on it are not my least favorite, but far from the nicest around....  Plus, thee are 4 lug too, so they bolt right on...
