Yup, got her all back together last night (she's not been flatted or polished yet, though).

PhilO dropped the seat in for re-covering this morning - hopefully I'll have that back soon.

I repositioned the after-market rear indicators too, last night . . . works much better but I had to lower (and straighten AND centralise) the rear plate - hence I'm after a new one as I had to bastardise the holes to make sure it'd work.

Pics to follow.

All in all a successful evening.

Some pictures . . .

First is of everything just before paint :

Next is everything after the painting and clearcoat session :

Some close-ups (before flatting and cutting remember ! ) :

Back together . . kind of . . . the seat has now gone away for recovering . . the numberplate is being replaced and the handlebars are being replaced with a colour more fitting the bike, now.

Total cost of works is gonna be about £165.  The Bike cost about £445 (IIRC) so not bad, in all, for £610.

Looks uber!!

You're right about the frame though, kinda looks faded with all that new paint work.

Just OT, but would this have to be notified to the DVLA as a colour change, even though it's like removable panels?

yes, in theory. many don't bother though, as bikes tend to change colour more than cars, due to the ease of painting them by comparison.

TBH it wouldn't be a massive job to strip the bike and have the frame blasted and powder coated - its just a matter of how far you want to go.

If I still have her next winter I may well do . . . It'll depend on time more than money as the out-lay will be realistically very little . . .

Yup but a replacement is just £21 (inc. delivery) . . . I'd have to buy more paint and clear and primer to do the job - that'd total £14 before I'd even done anything !

Not taking their time - I'm just getting impatient.

They quoted up to two weeks . . . it's been one.

Ooo !

Fitted the new (slightly smaller) numberplate last night and the new rear reflectors.

It's subtle but it looks sooo much better.

Can't wait to get her all done.

Bike MOT's aren't exactly rocket science, they take around 5 mins. the only bugbears testers have are loud pipes (no prob for you) tinted headlight covers  and silly number plates. (again, no probs)
