Project Bike Completed !
« on: October 03, 2007, 08:58:57 pm »
OK so only a mini project but I've working every spare minute on it since Saturday into the early hours and it's now completed one and a half days ahead of schedule

Finished Bike, bar the odd thing once it's outside in the day light :

It's new home, loads of room :

A selection of the best restoration bits, the rear sets and passenger foot pegs turned out very well :

The front disc was quite rusty :

The tank had a couple of chips & scratches which I covered with very carefully placed Tank Pads, they are just red ones that I bought but are a nearly perfect colour match :

The Exhaust downpipes after hours & hours :

Nice Ass, my favorite view of the bike :

Dam must stop racking the miles up :

Although it was first UK registered on a 1992 "K" plate it's a 1989 model , closer inspection of the build label ( top right ) reveals it was actually built in Sept 1988, so it's just 19 years old !

Fingers crossed for the weekend weather

It's Armoral only on the outside edges for photographic purposes, it'll be cleaned off with brake cleaner before it's ridden

Been out for a 20 mile shake down ride tonight, started on the button despite having the fuel tank off.
Only two things needed doing, the clutch lever needed backing off because despite my large hands I couldn't reach the biting point and needed to take some more slack out of the throttle cables.

Sorted

nice..

a sorted honda should have a snickety smooth watch like precision, as a contrast to kawasaki and yamaha, which are loose thrashy and raspy!

suzuki are somewhere in between

The engine is a peach gearbox is good too if i can remember 1 down and 4 up, instead of the Beatch's 5 down with the digital gear indicator
The brakes seem good but the suspension is hard, even on the softer settings.
Have to get to know the old girl better
