The driver, 39 year old Ajay Soni has finally had his day in court.
Ajay had popped over to his brothers house in Shepperton back in March to collect the joint owned car and went for a drive. Heading towards Chertsey in wet conditions, Mr Soni accelerated around a left hand bend up to 65 mph before realising he was carrying too much speed and applying the brakes. The car aquaplaned into the path of an oncoming Astra causing both cars to spin. All occupants avoided serious injury.
Mr Soni accepted that he was travelling too fast for the conditions and received a fine of £400 and was given nine penalty points
The £830,000 Bugatti is back at the factory undergoing extensive repairs.
Rumours that he was given a courtesy Astra with 'Bugatti Crash Repairs' written along the side are unfounded, he was given a Micra
