Were talking about a diesel genny seeing as we have attended a few shows without hookups and will probably attend a few more next year.

Discussed it a s agroup purchase as it would be about £500

Good idea.

We really need to start addressing a "kitty" to cover large purchases like this / genny / etc . . . .

That way the cost is spread over everyone . . .

Yeah damned good idea ........... ok lets see
current price of the fridge is 45 quid
decent diesel (quite run!) genny is about 400 ish quid
(seen this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-BOXED-DIESEL-GENERATOR-3-3-KVA-KEY-START_W0QQitemZ160032256579QQihZ006QQcategoryZ46412QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

so if we saya  fund of 500-600 is needed for new portable genny & fridge & cables perhaps??

How many people could put summat into that...doesn't have to be today/tomorrow - just before next show season...

I would be in

If we decide on one I could see if my firm could buy it (hence skipping VAT).

I'm not promising anything, though . . . .

Well im in for £100 but only if we get a decent sized one. It needs to be able to power everything we have and at the last billing we had 3 hookups

Trouble with them is they are not small units by the look of them....the one on ebay is a nice small unit!?!?  (maybe call em and find the dimensions?)

The lil 2kva one we got atm seems to power most stuff so a 3kv should bemore than plenty

Trust me on this one ian, 3kv is only just enough to boil a kettle. your only gonna pick up 800w over your existing unit and as we saw it might well power things but the voltage drops and things stop working.

A hookup is 16A  a 3kva genny is 12A that other one is 18A

I admit the comercial units are big that unit is 900x500x700 which i believe would sit in the front section of the BBQ between the lockers. With the addition of some strap downs it would be fine in transit
