battery charging
« on: January 07, 2008, 07:10:34 pm »
as part of rechargeable torch rebuild,
i was wondering how critical the charge voltage is for a 6v batt, could i charge it with a 9v source [that i have]

its a £12 sealed lead acid batt from maplins, that will fit in my torch as a replacement for the £54 RS...replacement
i will fit a charging socket,in to the torch body, to take the 3.5 mm jack,

According to my dads tech sheets for 12v SLA you need 13.8-14.1 the charging current is also important

so i assume that 9v....is good for a 6v batt...
usually thought that  a couple of v each way makes no difference
