I need to update my rig but I need a Leopard retail DVD to do it - (I can't do Snow Leopard just yet).

Apple do not sell Leopard anymore so I know a few of you guys run Macs, so if you have a retail DVD of Leopard, then upgraded to Snow Leopard - could I buy your copy of Leopard? (Snow Leopard is a different Licence key, so you technically have two (and I need one!).

Appreciated Art It needs to be the 'retail' Leopard DVD though which is the coloured purple and black disk, not the grey 'system restore' Leopard disk.

i may get round to it soon,
as i have just bought a wireless keyboard and magic mouse for the mac mini ,and intent to use one of the outputs to put it through our projector ,

and use it as a media centre...[ i have very little idea of what im doing there though... so wait for daft questions...]

Ask away bud, I use my hackingtosh as a media centre using VLC remote on my Android phone - bit more traditional to use as it displays a 'remote' with play, pause, volume etc rather than a keyboard and mouse, although they will be useful anyway browsing from the chairs.

No idea - never tried GMote - might do now though.. VLC is good as a dedicated 'media' remote once you have VLC open, you can browse your disks for media and play music, movies etc, all with full control, play, stop, pause, fast forward, volume etc.

I guess GMote is more of a computer controller, so can open programs, turn on and off etc..

Both together would be cool maby

Yeah Gmote does all that plus it has a "trackpad" mode.
Will have a look at VLC though

Completely but a guy at work showed me this Tasker app.

Seems quite cool gonna try it out.

That is good! I've been looking for something that could perform as a 'macro' when I play music - I need to turn the Desire's wireless off first before connecting the phone to my bluetooth A2DP stereo, then I can play music - the wireless interferes otherwise.

That automated would be great - so as soon as I click on MortPlayer, it performs those actions

Indeed.  So far I've set up to switch on Airplane mode overnight but check for SMS/Voicemail every 15mins.

And to switch on WiFi automatically when I'm at home

Okay, I've made a 'task' to do what I want, but how do you convert that into a button that you can have on the desktop that will run the task anytime you want?

You just want the WiFi to switch off and Blue tooth to come on when you start your music app?

Yes, but Bluetooth is usually already on, but I need it to switch off then back on to re-pair with the stereo headunit.

Something like:

Bluetooth Off > Wireless Off > Bluetooth On > Music App

And the reverse - in two buttons on the desktop

Create a new Task profile with your music app as the context.  Then add those three tasks "Bluetooth Off > Wireless Off > Bluetooth On"
Every time you run the app bluetooth and Wireless will switch off and then Bluetooth will switch back on.

Just tried it on mine for my Absolute Radio App seems to work fine.  I don't have any Bluetooth head gear to test it fully though.

AHHH cheers dude! Got it working. I didn't realise the way you had to 'attach' it to the app by selecting it as the context - so when you launch the app, it runs the macros. I thought you had to make buttons..

.... But how do you make it so when you close the music player, it turns the WiFi back on?

Hmm When I tryed the WiFi returned to its previous setting when I closed the app.

perhaps set the Wifi mode as toggle rather than off?

EDIT:  Found if you tap on the Task you get task options one of them is to Add Exit Task!  (switch on WiFi)
