Quote from the review :

" Bottom line. Get a Mac with OS X unless Media Center is a must-have, or if your home-computer needs are somehow Windows-specific."

Thats a fair summary of the whole article TBH, my needs a still windows specific however so you won't see me forkin out for a Mac any time soon.

Indeed that review does sum up both arguments. If all you use a PC for is browsing and the odd bit of office work then a mac would work just as well.

Now that you can dual boot Windows and OSX on the same Mac most people's needs are now covered.  Simply boot up into Windows to play whatever game you can't get for the Mac and/or to update your sat nav unit or whatever other gadget requires Windows, then reboot into OSX to access the internet safely and do cool stuff with the iLife software suite.

If it wasn't for needing Windows to play games, I'd be using linux on the cheapest hardware (ie a PC). It works and is legally free. (two more than Windows and at least one more than a Mac).

Ah Linux, i dabbled with this a few years back as an alternative to windows when i was still PC based. I liked it but found the lack of support for hardware frustrating. Thinking back it was over 7 or 8 years so am guessing the whole system is better now

MACs are great at what they do... but as with most people I'm a PC person.

Just think, if everyone did oneday go for a MAC then it'd be OS X everyone slats as being unsecure because that would be the target.... but luckly for Apple its a MAC so nobody gives a ****.
