My Desk Top has been getting slower & slower, taking about 15 minutes to boot up and taking ages to load programmes, also running out of memory
That's kids for you
Had look around on the interweb thingy and Wiki recommended some free ware Speed It Up Free
Downloaded it and it crashed twice, but then turned off all virus, spy and adware software and it ran fine. It took about 4 hours to run through the system, but after a reboot the difference is fantastic
Now takes about 4 minutes to boot up, doesn't run out of memory and loads programmes quickly

I'd like to know what it does before giving it free reign on my PC. Sounds interesting though. I'll have a closer look later and let you know what I find.

Mmm, plot foiled.
The laptop fan has died and it overheats and crahes, so I've not had a chance to look into this, and the filters at work won't let me see it there either.
One day....

bit like our computers i guess...
I for one do NOT miss googling error codes, or turning the machine on in the morning to find windows booting in to safe mode for no apparent reason....
sometimes....... in certain cases...... predictability is good...

I haven't had any issues with my P.C in it's current form for well over a year . . . probably two, actually . . .
Time to upgrade, then - it clearly requires stressing-out.

Indeed. And thinking back the only problems I had we're if I had been messing around with it...oh and one Mobo failure 6 years ago.
Oh and a Graphics card that I plugged the power supply in the wrong polarity
They changed that under warranty though
Think my PC has cost me around £500 over last 5 years and £300ish of that was buying bigger HDD's(really should stop downloading porn), software and and shiny new monitor.

Any more clues as to what it does? I will investigate downloading it if it doesn't cause any issues.

It would appear to shut down anything running in the background which isn't needed and re-formats the hard drive.
It's not defragmentation as such ( which I had done the day before anyway ) it seems to re-organize files into the fastest opening sequence
But whatever or however it does it, it works
