Which Wheel Cleaner - FBody?
« on: March 13, 2015, 02:13:06 pm »
Does anyone have a suggestion, especially FBody, of which wheel cleaning product to use to remove stuck-on brake residue but also one which is gentle on the alloy and brake calliper?

Autoglym Clean Wheels coupled with a kitchen washing up brush, been using it for years on the IROC wheels, its extremely effective.  For the really stubborn stuff some scrubbing and a few sprays is needed but the only time I've needed to do that is when cleaning the inside of the wheels which is rough-cast Aluminium.

I use Wonder Wheels on the rest of the F Body fleet because its more aggressive than the Auto Glym cleaner  ;)
So it cleans the daily drivers better, but you have to be careful with any plastics like dust caps etc, it will turn them white it left on longer than a minute or two  :(

Thanks FB.

I think I'll stick with the Glym as I do not want to get distracted and have half the wheel disintegrated!  :banned: :rasp:
