Author Topic: I got my Autostyle car mats today! (Read 1051 times)

Took just shy of 2 weeks, not bad at the end of the day as they were fully custom as they had to be made from paper templates I supplied.
I knew when I sent the templates off that I hadn't done a very good job of them, hot tip: use thin card, not parcel wrapping paper...
I wasn't sure how accurate Autostyle would follow the template, so I made them slightly smaller, especially around stuff that sticks out, except for in the passenger front footwell where I didn't account for the fact it gets a few mm narrower towards the firewall...

But overall they fit well enough, clearly way better than universal jobs.
If I'd done a better job of doing the templates they'd have been spot on.

I'm well happy though.

If only I'd thought to ring them 3 years ago instead of wearing a hole in the OE carpet with my heel...

If you can, best visit them to make the template as they know what they're doing!

About £60 with the club discount iirc.

The discount is a bit less now so they'd be a bit more, but that's the ballpark you're looking at.

No, but it says I can use an older browser - it's just preferable to use a newer one to get all the features.

I have to say patterns can be a bit of a nightmare in some cars; bt in most a few mm either way doesn't usually hurt.

But as suggested; anyone needing a custom pattern is welcome to pop down for a fitting.

Yeah mine are fine, well pleased.

If you're using my pattern for future customers I would make a couple of amendments though.

1) The passenger side mat gets narrower towards the firewall (on the outer side). The wheel well encroaches maybe 2-3 mm which can make the carpet bulge up. This only affects the front half of the mat.

2) The drivers foot pad needs to move 3cm over to the right (ie nearer the door) so your heel is definately on it when using the throttle.
