well, the sad truth is, if it was done, it would be massive simply because everyone would either want to laugh at it at least.

Top Gun was AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!

One of the reasons it was awesome was the aerial photography which was (and frankly still is) outstanding.  If they re-did it today it would be all CGI and full of manouvres that real planes can't even do.

It was also an 80s film and the rock soundtrack suited it 110%.

Doing it today with Speed Hop "music" wouldn't quite be the same...

It should be left well alone.
Good films DO NOT need remaking or sequels.

Why the hell don't they remake the crap stuff?!?!

On a side note, this independent fly-on-the-wall type film is coming out in September:

http://www.speedandangels.com

I'll be watching that...

What like flying an F15, upside down, 3 feet above a MIG without the planes tail fins colliding ?

now who would do a thing like that...

Marty McFly's house

Yep, i drove on the the drive way, reversed off and gave it the whole, "roads?....... where we're going, we don't need .... roads..."

Doc Browns 1955 Mansion

"Twin Pines/Lone Pine Mall" Yep, that's my car parked in the spot where the truck holding the delorean was parked in the film..

and yes,

I did go hooning around the car park after trying to escape the Libiyans..

Marty McFly's house is in a right moody part of town...

Marcus took a pic of me in the Shelby parked outside it, with all the ghetto kids hanging around I didn't wanna leave the car unoccupied.
that reminds me, need to email him and ask him for a copy of the photo...

Found the mall too, also late at night but wasn't 100% sure it was the right one until we checked the film footage and saw that they had renamed the store since...  (doh!)

Which reminds me, I've got some video footage of the Miramar Top Gun training base too, not much, as I figured I may well get shot parking at the ate and taping it...

Odd - 'cos it looks quite a pleasant area in the film . . . . 23 years on I suppose . . .

its not that moody an area, it was fine when we went, but the kids were all out at school i guess, it was mid week.  I really liked the area Docs house is in... but I would.....

Dude, it's just north of Van Nuys which is a real hole.

It's not Compton, but it's not exactly upmarket, we turned around in a parallel street and it had plenty of old cars on blocks.  And not in a good way...
