I need some Bike help from anyone out there who knows bikes... (Philo?)

I want to change the front set of gears on my bike to a bigger, roadbike, gears so that I don't have to pedal like a frikken madman to get home fast cos its SO annoying...

The front gears at the moment have 42-34-24 Teeth...

Has 52-42-30 Teeth (also does it come with both pedal-bar-things?)

Now.. My bike currently has a Square peg type Bottom bracket, so does that mean that I have to change that too as the gear above is splined??? & then buy one of these:

Is there anything else that would need changing?

Yup thats it mate, you will also need a set of spanners to remove the bottom bracket and install the new one

yup although you might need to add some links to the chain, the front deralier might need adjusting

what do the measurements on the Bottom Bracket mean? because the current one appears to be 75mm long (+ the square pegs on each end) and has a 35mm thread for the locking ring on one end...

pretty much what greame said.. i have the relevant tools to do the swap its just a puller that threads into the front chainwheel, then you screw the enter in, it pushes against the bottom bracket, and pops the chainwheel off.

check the two bottom bracket sets are interchangable, in case the road bike one has a smaller thread, or is narrower.

or just buy a road bike....

try hellfrauds, they might have a roadbike chainwheel with the same type of fitting you have, its pretty much universal among affordable type bikes.
