Wedge plates are similar to spacers, but as you can see, the profile of a wedge plate tapers. What’s the point? Simple. These spacers are designed to keep carburetor float bowls in the proper perspective when the car accelerates. Moroso claims this plate (with an angle that tilts the carburetor forward 5 degrees) provides the optimum angle during peak acceleration and, consequently, front end lift.
