well guys as regards my absence the mkb forum,

not for the 1st time due to the constant and petty grudges by one or two of your group, against the northampton area members has left me, and others in the middle of of things!

Yet again trying to justify your comments and actions, and smooth over the rifts that you seem happy to cause ?

l assume your  actions are  not necessarily supported by  all of the  mkb group all of whom i am glad to call mates
but some of your long held grudges seem to be getting in the way of my involvment  !

Not surprisingly a few of the northants guys are pulling out of the karting next week,
im left with trying to raise the rest of the moneys payable, which looks unlikley,
so i suppose that at least a couple of you will be happy that you have achieved something for your cause [what ever that maybe]

Maybe in the long term these grudges could be resloved,
but i imagine its unlikley as its been on going for 12 months, time will tell !

Dissapointed Art b
This forum needs, ''YOU'' posting,Not just reading ! :moon:

i dont understand why a dispute between 2 people should lead others to boycot an event, especialy as those boycotting dont post here, or even read the forum, therefore are being fed totaly one sided information.. seems  like a thin excuse for some people to drop out, perhaps they have other things to do?

i also dont understand why the dispute should have any effect on anyone other than those it involves...

for example, if person a has a friend called b, and person c has a friend called d, there is no earthly reasonable reason why if person a and c are having a disagreement, that person b and d should be affected in any way..

thats the kind of mentality that used to go around at lowerschool crying 'i'm gonna get a gang on you...'

in a democratic civilisation, people are left to make their own minds up, not to do things because they are told to..

Phil
I think you would find that quite a lot of  people do read what goes on here,  they might not post but they do READ. I dont think that anyone is boycotting the event, its just that feelings are running high, and no one wants to attend an event when there is going to be a bad feeling. It was ment to be FUN.

And as for your example, wars have been started over such trivial things.
Its not a mentality, I think you will find that friends stick together. As far as i'm aware the event is still on? unless you know other wise

John,

I organised this event and unless the final payment is made by the northants half the whole thing will not happen. I am liable for the cost of the whole event personaly thats curently £800. I want nothing more for this event to happen

no one is interested in getting into the discussion between the two people in question - this is between two people and two people only, and a social event is not the place to sort it out, that needs to be done between the two people ONLY and behind closed doorsat some other time, when their full atention can be devoted to it..

Indeed.

I'll be going . . . after a full day managing a site full of idiots at the start of a new project, the last thing I want to do is provoke a confrontation in the evening.

As PhilO wisely says, there's a time and a place.

TBH, I've had enough of the situation . . . People are free to make up their own minds.  I don't care what they decide - as long as they have all the facts.

As far as the racing goes I don't see it as a competitive event.

It's a laugh, a piss take.  My Girlfriend is gonna be racing with the rest of us and I have NO intention of acting like a twat and risk causing her an injury in the name of competition.

It's a social event.

Period.

I'll be leaving my ego at home . . . . along with the politics.

I'd hope all will do the same.

I agree that if should be a fun event, and I will be looking forward to it.

ps Do you not think that it is about time that you change your Avatar Roadkill.

Why ?

Ryan made it for me . . . I haven't found anything else I like yet . . .

Of course, as a regular visitor here, mate, you'll know I change my Avatar fairly regular.

Variety IS the spice of life and all that . . .

No, I don't see a problem with it.

Just incase you're thinking there might be a link between this and the recent goings on (i'm not sure but the mentioning of it here did imply that to me)  I can assure you there isn't  and the avatar was modified by me from another image long before all this occured..

Sorry if this is totally unrelated but a small bell was ringing in my head that this is what you might have thought...
