Sometimes caused by a (o2 ?) sensor failing

I hope it's not an O2 sensor, don't those things cost bucks.....

If it is the 02 sensor that could explain the poor fuel economy

***edit*** could use the one off lm in the short term and order one in the usa @ $46

What year is you're car?  my code flasher will display Camaro codes from 1982 - 1994...   Camaro isn't listed under 1995 PCM

BTW those headlights look mean...

I'd be suprised if they would comply with UK regulations though...

Nahh...not that much anyway. I think ive got one here for a 95.
As for the code, it could be just about anything.....best bet is to try clearing it first, and see if it re-occurs. My 4th gen throws up O2 sensor occasionally if i do a long high speed run.

Once i reset it, it goes away for months at a time...

If youve got proper kit, itll tell you if its a pending code or a pucker fault code. (In other words, whether its summat thats occurred once that it didnt like, or summat thats a permanent fault). You can also view all the realtime data for each sensor, which is kinda handy....

Are you going to Rockingham? Ill bring ours along..

The 'Service Engine Soon' light popped up on my way to work this morning....

Does this mean it's hit a service interval related to mileage, or has it thrown a code???

its thrown a code..

i'll wager its almost definatley related to the TC unit you have installed..

i'll also wager its regesterd a random misfire.

not very good, coz i dont know the mapping on 4th gens, but on the tahoe, (OBDII) anything that interfears with the injector pulse will throw a code very quickly..

we had the same issue with the tahoe when it changes from petrol to gas, due  to the slightly different burn rate of gas and petrol, it regesterd each injector switch as a misfire event, occasionaly logging the whole event as a random misfire.

the hoe is 96 and running OBD2

i'm skint enough as it is this month!!

hell tell ya what..

if the code is managment based (i.e. not something like EGR or 02 sensor) then yeah, i'll lay £5 on that..

i wont lay money on a specific code though..

Wired in a bit of the loom that isn't fitted to the Z28 today, but is fitted to the Pontiac Firebird..... This particular section consists of two bits of wire and a switch, which when toggled, make the PCM switch to a performance shift table for firmer upshifts and more aggressive down shifts....

Performance for pence, that's the kind of mod I like.... Am off to see how it drives now...

Umm firmer upshifts & more aggressive down shifts - just avoid the hedges
