Title: A scanner darkly
Post by: 55starchief on July 23, 2006, 05:53:48 pm
I want to see this if and when it gets released over here.

http://wip.warnerbros.com/ascannerdarkly/

The film was shot then every frame coloured to give the apearance of a animation. The uber cool part is that you can still see parts of the original film through the coloring process.

Hmmm . . . I think if it was a "Normal" film it'd be crap.

If I watch it it'd be purely for the Effects, I think . . .

It was written by the same guy as minority report. Its not gonna be for your mainstream audience as it involves the viewer to think.

I remember watching minority report then discussing it with others who had no idea what the film was about even after watching it they missed the point about the kids being kept in a drug induced comma constantly having nightmares

So it didnt make you think?

Well lets look at one simple part of that film/short story

Consider the advertising everytime the character walks past a billboard the advert is directed to the products he buys. This is already happening today. Everytimne someone uses a store loyalty card that store knows what the person has purchased and direct mails them offers suited to them. Look at the nectar card which takes this one step further as they actual know where you travel to and from as well as what you buy.

You thinking now?

Just got back from cineworld and all i can say is awesome. You could tell it was gonna be good with a pretty empty theater and with people bailing halfway through. I guess its just not everyones kind of film. The rotoscoping was amazing just like a living cartoon and as for the story excelent lots of twists and turns a little simaler to minority report in its overal execution.

definatley a 9/10 for me

but 8/10 for originality (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif)
and 9/10 for Winona Ryder getting her baps out (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)
