Well this was an experience!

The show organised by the Surrey Street Rodders had moved from its location last year of Rushmore Arena to Dunsfold Park, or the Top Gear text track to those not familiar with airports!

Me and a few from V8UK set off fairly late for this one as one of our guys wasn't back in the country till 2am, so an early cruise wasn't on the cards, but by the sounds of it, it didn't make much difference. Anyone from 11am later had been queuing in a nice long queue from Dunsfold back to Guildford due to a poxy set of traffic lights that really only let three cars cross a busy road at a time.

Sad to say there were a few casualties on the side of the road too, looks like overheating bit a few of the cars trying to get in.

Once inside, it was HUGE. It took a good while to just drive around to where the show was, then a further few minutes to find anywhere to park! The show field was filled by 10am according to some friends there, which was pretty sad considering the standard of car in the general car park! What really rubbed salt in the wound though was the cars that were in the show field that you could hardly call 'Hot rod, American or Custom' - read a lot of 'stanced' VW stuff.

Anyway, only popped off a few photos as I was meeting up with a few people there, I saw on Facebook that Motorama was there but didn't manage to bump into him.

Heres what I took, all but one was actually on the show field:

Was a great day - we got there at 9.45 and had no issues at all. we left at 2.30 - again there was no problems in getting out at all. Huge show and a good start to the year ;)

Was going to say, it appears there has been a wicked backlash over this event!

Such a shame! I can understand from both sides, but when it comes to vulgar emails, phone calls etc, to volunteers who run it, that's not fair.

Hopefully they'll still put on a show next year, but maybe subscribe it in some way. Have a set field of show car tickets, then a general admission.

Da ja vu ?

It's only a matter of time before someone f*cks it up for everyone else.
