It's a 350 5.7 V8 played with that much over time i have forgotten what's in it with a baby 177 supercharger stuck on top, we have a 200 shot of NOS fitted too but never used it yet, traction's a bit of a problem at the mo

Auto trans I assume ?

Those baby chargers are quite hard to find . . most companies just do the 4-71 (if you're lucky) and above . . .

200 shot of NOS

I'd start at half that and build up.

Your right mate 200 is too much just gonna get use to what it can take then go from there, but it really dont need it.
Trans is 700r4 auto, built to a high performance spec with all alto red clutches, band and shift kit, cheep and easy to do too if you look in the right places for parts.

How come?

V8 Chevy's EAT T5 transmissions.  That's a fact.

They're fine in the V6's and don't ask why they're also fine behind Ford V8's - I don't know.

Chevy V8's and Borg Warner T5's just do not get on.

Ahh, also my first gear is useless.

The gearing is all wrong.

My gears are 3.73:1 . . . I'd have to drop to at least 3.23:1 which is crazy talk, fool !

We built the box ourself so no labour

Alto red clutches 1+2 $38
Alto red clutches 3+4 $39
Alto red band            $24
Transgo jr shift kit     £38

Less than 80 quid and a box that feels good too.

I didnt realise the T5's where that bad and expensive

The guy who had it before me says he had it rebuilt.

I don't disbelieve him but think it was a cheap rebuild - the synchros were all newish but someone obviously didn't check the shafts.

It's been grownchy into second since I've had it . . . it just kept getting worse.

torque....

the ford had a much less savage torque curve, and less of it..

the tree fiddy chev is a torque monster, more than the T5 can handle

The world class T5's are rated at about 300ft/lb. Mine's running at about 290 ish
I'd hope the 350 would have a fair bit more.

Stock value for mine's about 250 ft/lb . . . But mine's running a later block and has quite a few mods . . .

Mine's not a World class, either.
