Mongoose are some of the best off the shelf BMX bikes from what I understand.

My Raleigh Night Burner was fecking awesome though!
I remember my dad allowing me to wipe out my meagre savings account to buy it (£115 back in 1984 iirc)

ahh Andy, you'd LOVE it, the Stondon motor museum (well worth a visit, and not too far from you) has a Raleigh Vector in there!!!

The control panel contained a horn that could make different noises iirc, plus it had an FM radio, can't remember what else...

I think there was some sort of trip computer, too.

they were mega expensive, and seeing one now as an adult, they seem so much smaller too!!
