Its a 700R4 AFIK in perfect working condition, nobody's called shotgun on it yet.

You were looking for an overdrive weren't you Jamie?

This is another reason why i'm keen on this car, I know the engine fits under my bonnet & won't kill the box because its the same as mine!

See this car is seeming more & more like a good idea, thats 4 of us who could have bits from it now...

Anyone fancy a group purchase?? ;)

Depends very much on price, but potentially yes.

Anyone know how much a used 700r4 costs?

hmm,,, he did a good job on that one, didn't he!

like i said ryan, be VERY sure what you want, any used engine is a risk, where as a goodwrench engine is a brand new, from the factory lump...

Ryan,

A stock 305 rebuild kit inc pistons, cam, lifters, gaskets, oilpump and bearings would run around $350 from performance automotive warehouse in the usa

Yup, everything mate. The catalog is thicker than the yellow pages hence the price. Deano has an old one of mine see if he still has it and get a lookie lookie

For around $3500 i could have you a 350ci new block and heads, forged pistons and rods all the other goodies etc around 400hp, not sure what the economy would be ,but bloody good fun mate

you have to remember my boundaries on this, its GOT to work with a stock 700R4 & my drivetrain, i.e. no more than 300hp & the fuel economy is important as my only Daily car. (probably something like Holley Pro-jection that Phil is saying about)

I'll see what Steve wants for his whole car & take into account saleable bits.  There's a bit of time yet & I don't mind spending a bit of money on my current block to get it running better if things aren't happening instantly but if its going to be replaced I won't be spending a fortune!

different thing,

How much normally are those kits you can get for putting shiny things over your top & bottom Rad Hoses?  don't know what they're called but they have end things on them & some flexible "hose" in the middle...

You mean braided hose covers ???

You can pick a kit up for £20-£40.

They do Fuel, Heater and Rad Hoses.

Check the sizes first !!!

Coolflex do the proper stuff.

Not seen that before, not sure I like it either - reminds me of vacuum cleaner hose.

Too true - potential for bling overload there.

Maybe get away with more if you used the darker colours.
