The Mustangs are fine and are sensible but any yank I've driven built during or after the mid-nineties has really lacked any . . . . soul ? . . . Like the majority of cars built during or after the mid-nineties, I suppose . . . Look great, perform well but lack anything else.
Sorry Incursus, but I have to agree.
You like what you like and cannot help that (I mean look at me with old crappy VW Buses), so if that era of Mustangs really give you a chubby, then awesome, if it makes you happy, go for it.
However, as RK says, if it is something American you want, that has power and is fairly unique on the road, there must be other vehicles you would consider?
None of my business of course, but I would be interested to know what it is with that model that you like?
