From that vid I looked up Gadani Beach, Pakistan on Google & Maps, it looks almost post-apocalyptic with all these huge supertankers & other ships just rammed into the shore & being ripped to pieces.

There are good reasons why it's cheaper to sail ships all the way there :

It is almost apocalyptic for the environment and workers, the oils, fuel , solvents and asbestos etc are just dumped into the water

Still you who wouldn't love to go full steam ahead and beach the sucker

There's a 20min vid on youtube (can't link it now as i'm at work) which follows some of the workers one day.

put in "Front driver beaches Gadani Beach" or something like that & it should come up. Not a place i'd like to work

("Front Driver" apparently was a supertanker)
