Stateside Parts Forwarder
« on: July 05, 2006, 07:45:14 am »
Does anyone have a trusted contact that would be happy to forward a package on for me? The guy selling the item below won't ship internationally.

I'm thinking of this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=270002795935&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

So I understand that the 'across the pond' part of the shipping might be quite a bit but there's no rush for it so slow-boat shipping would be fine.

Anyway - We all need a contact in the States.

I suggested that at the AAC-UK show.  I think that we should set up an 'MKB' account with him that we can all use.

Smaller stuff is no problem at all. Some of the bigger stuff is where the postage costs get really high. USPS will only ship packages with a max length of 60" and max girth of 108" with a max weight of 70 lbs., anything bigger you have to go to DHL, UPS, or FedEx. A 5lb. package costs about 23 quid to ship and a 70lb. package costs about 180 quid to ship via USPS/ParcelForce to give you an idea.
