Wasn't as good as the original series, I think Don Johnson used to play it more for style and tongue in cheek

Never really got into the original (before my time )

Not too bothered about this latest version, either . . .

Got the first 2 series on box set DVD.

Also got the new film.

The new film is decent enough as a film, but it isn't Miami Vice.  It's in a different style and although the new Tubbs is good, the new Sonny (Farrel) doesn't look so stylish, like he's constantly in need of a wash and a haircut.

I enjoyed it but Miami Vice it is not, mainly due to poor casting, even thpugh there are some great scenes with high end power boats and some nice photography.

Just watched this. Thought it was quite cool as a film and good fun to watch but quite hard to hear what was being said half the time.

Also Sonny's love interest was a crappy actress imo. Good to see Sol Star from Deadwood in it to

Oh yeah, and I want that boat!

<enagage saddo mode>

The boat used in the movie is an MTI (Marine Technology Inc) Series 39 offshore catamaran.  It had a pair of silly horsepower v8's in (Mercury I think) and is currently for sale!

(after filming it was painted in a different colour scheme and all the camer bracketry etc was removed but it kept the name MoJo etc)

You'd bet start saving up the pennies as MTI's are not cheap boats anyway and fitted with a pair of good v8s cost about $500,000 which is the asking price for the Vice boat.
