What's going on here?
« on: December 04, 2006, 11:43:54 am »
Had a weird thing happen this morning, that I've never experienced before.

Car still relatively cold, rough idling in traffic. When trying to pull away, the car stumbled for a couple of seconds as if about to stall, then suddenly lurched (enough to spin the wheels on the damp road), before settling back to normal.  It was like the fuel that should have been flowing to get us moving was not getting to the engine, then suddenly being dumped in.

This happened 3 times in the space of a couple of minutes.

What car? if its the maro i would say the fuel pump is not working properly, if its the CRV thingy i would guess at ECM and would get it checked by the dealer

Maro.  Wouldn't trouble the forum for CRV, it would go straight back to the dealer.

You still running that manual pump? it might be on its way out, also check the rotor arm and dizzy cap

Changed it for the one that was on the other car - it gave an instant pressure increase - and hasn't shown any signs of a problem at any other time.

also check the rotor arm and dizzy cap

Was thinking of doing that anyway after the results of the dyno.
