Need advise on brakes
« on: April 12, 2006, 04:58:21 am »
Guys (and girls),

I pick up my 'maro tomorow, and I'm already looking at what bits to buy for it. The first thing on my list is brake discs whick although they passed the MOT on Monday, could do with being replaced in the next month or two.

I found the following on eBay and was after some opinions and advise

ROTORIZE Chevy Camaro [82-97] drilled slotted rotors

I would look on summit or jegs as they are probably the biggest online speed shops in the usa

Sadly I can't disagree with this one.... Brakes, Tyres, and Traction are top of my list.

Traction is sorted thanks to work.
The tyres are good at the moment.
But the brakes are going to need looking at sooner rather than later...

I've got the Baer catalogue which you're welcome to look through at our next meet.

Not really looked into 4th Gens much, so don't really have anything more to offer at this stage.

I'd guess he would be but I Think it falls on the AACI Rn'R weekend / AVO Chill-out meet up.

I'm not sure what we're doing about it yet.

Imho Baer would be the way to go if you want some kick ass stopping power.

Are you going to race the car?

Cross drilled discs tend to crack from the holes.
At minimum they want to be chamfered, even better is to just have them blind tapped or better still, just get grooved ones (ie no holes).  Don't look quite as spoinky but they will last longer.
