Oooh, just a had a quick shufty on my mobile at the titles, and there are definitely a few things I might be interested.

Need to take a proper look later to be sure.

Now - how to get them without letting Debs know I'm spending?

I HAVE HERE A TH400 SHORT TAIL AUTOBOX THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT WITH ONLY THE VERY BEST COMPONENTS AND A 10" HOLESHOT TORQUE CONVERTER. IT WAS BUILT ESPECIALLY TO HANDLE THE POWER OF MY 462CI SUPERCHARGED TRANS AM WHICH IT DID WITH EASE! IT WAS ONLY FITTED FOR MAYBE 1000 MILES SO IS STILL IN PERFECT CONDITION.IT HAS AN ELECTRIC KICKDOWN AND COMES WITH A B&M 3 SPEED QUICKSHIFTER COMPLETE WITH CABLE AND BRACKETS! ALSO COMES WITH CHROME DIPSTICK AND THE 2 BREATHER HOSES TO THE RAD. TH 400s ARE GETTING QUITE SOUGHT AFTER AND HARD TO FIND AND YOU DONT SEE THEM AVAILABLE TOO OFTEN, ESPECIALLY NOT TO THIS SPEC!

5 days left, no bids £200 starter

anything else that catches you're eye lemme know & i'll copy it across

1 thing that is odd... this advert describes his former car as a 462ci supercharged trans am   whereas the advert for his NASCAR Heavy duty rediator describes it as a 455ci supercharged trans am...   you'd think he knew what his (probably crashed judging by the parts he's selling) former car's engine was don't you...

Unfortunately I can't see the pics if they are still hosted on ebay.  I have seen the list of stuff, but want to take a proper look.

Not really interested in the box (still a 3 speed auto) although for £200 it's tempting anyway is it will be bullet proof. It's one of those that I doubt will stay that price.

It'd probably be a 455 base engine that has been bored for oversize pistons - taking it to 462.

The 7 cubic inch difference is less than 1 inch per piston. It doesn't take much of an overbore to get that.

Ah well, I knew it would be too good to be true.

** Rant Mode On **
I phoned him up for the door & trunk seal, headliner and interior panels. I even showed an interest in the front clip to try and get a better deal. Right from the off, the guy was trying to get me into a 'phone auction' bidding against people that may or may not exist 'I've been offered ££ for those already, blah, blah'.  I make him a firm offer, he says needs to check emails before commiting to sale. Wait for phone call back - nothing.

Call back sunday morning - he reckons he's had a better offer, would I go up £50?  I say no, but will take 2 of the 5 items (headliner and panels).  He calls me back 5 mins later - he's had a chat with the wife and the other bloke can't take the clip for 2 weeks - If I can take it sooner, he will accept my orignal offer.  Then tries to offer me delivery for £60.  I now no longer want to deal with him, but still want the panels and headliner, so give him a run-around of looking for a mate with a trailer.  He also reckons he's got a pair of mirrors, with the remote control that I need.

1.5 hours later (what should have been a 25 min journey, damn motorway closures) I get there to find - The panels aren't as advertised - "I'm sure I mentioned there were 2 sets" "The best ones got snapped up straight away".  The pair that were there were scuffed to hell and not even worth the asking price, let alone his 'I've been offered' one.  Mirrors turned out to be one - the passenger one.

2 hours wasted and all I got was the headliner and door seals, and I ain't convinced that I've paid over the odds for them.

** Rand Mode Off   **
Ah well.

Yeah that wouldn't be good, new door seals will be great though, that was one of the first things I did when I got mine & it makes a big difference.
Boot one needs doing though I think as I'm getting wet carpet in my boot.

No, not this time, but thanks for pointing it out.

BTW, the headliner I got is useless after all.

Turns out it's one for bows, but I don't have them.  It'll be going back on ebay in the new year. (probably for a loss )

Aah well ok m8, just wondered if any of it was applicable.  Shame about the headliner being the wrong type
