Nope luckily the drive was empty

I still think it's an invasion of privacy and a thief's charter

Streeview works great on the mobile.  Uses the compass so you can "look" around you

How is it any different to anyone seeing your house from the street (and photographing private property from a public place has always been legal btw).
I really don't see the problem...

Our 2 daily drives are both on it, at least they have obscured the number plates.

In my current address, no, my house has a vauxhall vectra outside, def not mine.

However, our old place in Woking, in Birds-eye view you can see my E30 parked outside the house next to our old green Accord -

Whereas on Picture mode, you can see my old Toronado Truffle poking it's head around our old Accord....

This will be an issue when someone launches a site like interesting-cars-on-google-maps .com.. (not a real address)..

At the moment, everyone is in the same boat with valuables etc. However, for the classic / special / modified car owners, you would need someone to purposely FIND your car on it to steal it or whatever.

SO, at the moment, like HRC says, its only like knowing that a classic / yank / whatever is at a particular address as you are a local or something.

Issue comes if someone collates all the information together with links, then someone can just go through, pick what car they want, find it on the maps and go get it...
1968 VW T2 Bay Bus (currently being restored and upgraded)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

Saw they'd done this at the weekend...
pissed myself laughing when i saw my house, not because there was no cars on the drive, but because there's a small white Westie face in the lounge bay window staring straight at the camera

It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

The views are really out of sync around here. Outside my work is an old firm who haven't worked there in 12months, yet that photo above must only be a month old. Have just found my boss in the van though!

I expect it's automatic, and the software simply doesn't recognise your's as a number plate.

I'd complain to them.

Because if I'm a criminal I can research the layout of any area from the comfort of my PC in total privacy and look for vulnerable property or materials to steal
