CARL - Camaro Shopping List . . . .

Carl, I'll be ordering a few some* bits from Jegs shortly.

They don't have an option to ship to the U.K via USPS () so would it be OK to direct them your way ?

There may be some nuts and bolts from Spohn, too, but I haven't even checked their preferred shippers, yet . . .

Shortened Torque Arm,
Adjustable Panhard,
2x LCA,
Box of Poly bushes.

See also my post re. wheel cylinders and UJ's.

As I've got the back half in pieces I'm also "umming and ahhing" over Sway bars . . . Basically my front one is nasty and my car hasn't got a rear one . . . .
Dunno on that one, yet . . .

How can it not have a rear sway bar??  I thought that was an essential component??

Because they didn't fit them to early third gens . . . .

Not really "essential" - many old cars didn't even have front sway bars !

sway bar = anti-roll bar.

Not sure what you are thinking it is

Fair do's.

It's a suspension tuning component.  Cars that don't have it jsut have more body roll, which in turn can affect handling.

It was an option on the 2nd gen, non-z28's, but thankfully, mine had that option

You'd be surprised.

Alot of manufacturers *cough* *Ford* thought Panhard arms are optional as well.

That may all depend on what suspension set-up they had.  There are alternatives...

Yeah, mine doesn't have a panhard or torque arm. Just four control arms attaching the axle to the car.
It does have sway bars front and back though.

Probably very good for drag racing but I can't see how it would be better for track/handling ?

It's not particularly good for anything, but it was cheap to make.
There are aftermarket torque arms and panhard bars (among other things) and they are on the long term shopping list (ie they cost a fortune).
