OK I have the lights :

Wasn't that impressed to find the butchered extra holes in the rear

First job is to get the Brasso metal polish out and remove some of the minor scratches

red tinting spray should work,
you can use amber lamps behind it

Indeedy and at £8 a can in Manchester it was £7 cheaper than in Luton

After a coat of protective lacquer I'm well pleased with the result

If (what was) the clear section is being used as reverse then why not leave it clear...?

I'm guessing the butchered hole was to allow for amber indicators and reversing lights to both be used in the clear section...

Two reasons, firstly I just prefer the whole light blending in rather than looking like an after thought and secondly, in the unlikely event that I got pulled by plod for having red incidators, they couldn't say use the clear section

Yes that probably was the case

The first test is going to be using the original bulbs, if that works I've got to track down suitable LED's, space is the issue :

I need to get plenty of illumination, but the light reflectors are long/thin and very convex [img]http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/chiny.gif" alt="" border="0" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);" class="bbc_img" />

Fiberglassed the butchered holes up :

As we know General Motors can't make a light that's water proof, but I can stop a river running through it :

I will say this only once more, if you use the amber LEDs it doesnt mater what color the lense is the light output from the LED is a wavelength that is not affected by the color in front of it Simply buy the lamps from the link i posted and you wont even need to modify anything as they fit the standard lamp holders

i could kinda see smoking the lense, but leaving the reverse section white working quite well...

you kinda get the idea here..

If you use a green LED bulb for the indicator its even better than a amber one.

better hope you all have broadband

OK took a lot longer than expected but it is completely reversible with any modification needed

This is how she was :

As a comparison :

With the modified lens :

Orange indicators :

Red indicators :

White reversing lights :

Oop's red reversing lights ( dam that tint works well ) :

Old tail lights :

The sun had came round the front of the house by this time, so the lights don't look as bright, that and the fact that the battery was flat

New tail lights ( now clearly four rear lamps ) :

Old Brake lights :

New Brake lights :

Without lights on :
