all gm products  with 7 1/2  , 7 5/8  ring gear  for 3.23 up ratio's

will fit 76- 88 but not  borg warner axles

I think we decided mine was 3.23 . . . anyway of checking ???

Mines 1983.

I also think we decided it wasn't a B/W - but again how do I check ?

And Ring Gear - Not an effing clue !!!

It's been on before and didn't go . . . .

I've just been paid . . . . Ignoring disc brakes, that would sort my axle out completely (with a service)

Which means I can get my Axle kit on.

If you are considering upgrading the axle i would recomend pulling it and getting it blasted and a coat of hamerite aswell as overhaul the drums that way its one less thing to be done

Don't think I'd get it blasted . . . No.

I Wouldn't get it blasted, just a manual scrub.  Brakes overhaul, yep, agreed.

i believe that would fit. just for referance, you have a 10 bolt axle - borg warner axles were not avaiable in 83

It will give a lot better traction, 2 wheel burnouts and its worth around a ton.

Am currently watching a simaler one for my poncho only mines real rare so i expect to pay double what that ones worth
