Managed to get the Z28 serviced over Christmas

Luckily I keep all that's needed in the F Body Stores



Started with the diff oil :



Then cleaned up the rotors/calipers :





Changed the brake fluid :





Gave the inside of the wheels some polish



Dropped the engine oil and filter :



Changed the coolant, power steeering oil and did a shed load of other jobs

Then detailed the engine bay :



Polished the interior leather ( love the smell of Gliptone ) :





Finally polished the exterior :











Also got the Panda service finished and I this morning I started work on the bike again

I am certain it is now cleaner and in better nick than the day it came out the factory

Afraid not, there are rusty parts and a few scratches & nicks if you know where to look

I wish I had the time, money & space to detail the chassis, powder coating for the win

Although she ain't bad for a ten year old

Couldn't get anyone I know interested in buying my 21 year old Honda

A real pity it went to Sheffield, I would have liked to have seen it again

Ah right, FB, how do you change your pas fluid? I've want to do it on my mondy and have been told two ways of doing it, both with potential flaws. The most recommended appears to be to remove a pipe from the steering cooler and draining it. Is this how you do it?

I suck the oil out of the reservoir using a large tube on my fluid pump

This baby :

Then push a small tube as far down the pipes as possible and suck the remaining oil out, the quantity left in the rack doesn't amount to much and you also don't have to worry about air blocks or leaks [img]http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif" alt="" border="0" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);" class="bbc_img" />

when we did the PAS fliud on my mustang we removed the engine, complete with pump still fitted and let it drain out of both the pump and lines all over deanos driveway.

it worked.....

Yeah I Know, it's just that any available spare time doesn't seem to coincide with reasonable weather

So tonight I ran the old Gal on axles stands in the garage, this let me check for any fluid leaks after the service ( none but I had to add about half a pint of engine oil ), let the engine and gearbox warm up to operating temp and run the drive through all the gears

Not quite a rolling road, but it's the first run she's had in 9 weeks



It did get rather fume filed in the garage because it was lashing down outside :



Ran with Aircon on as I always do for 15 minutes each journey to keep all the seals lubricated :



Engine running :



Note the ASR, ABS & Brake fault lights illuminated, the electronics don't like just the rear wheels moving
Even after switching off they will stay lit until the front wheels detect the same speed movement above 20mph as the rear wheels

Had to re-read that as I only saw the jack holding that up in the photos.

Seen a couple of people at Shakey run up/ work on their cars on Jacks. An O-ring away from disaster!
