General Banter / Profanisaurus Rex, word of the week.....
« on: January 01, 2016, 11:30:47 am »
After last nights conversation, and the need to use my profanisaurus Rex, here is the first of many words of the week :) not meant to offend, just to amuse.

Happy Shopper:

A cheap and cheerless grocery brand, A bi-sexual - one who shops on both sides of the street.  half rice half chips.

As everybody is running round getting sorted for the Christmas season & sorting when you'll see families, I thought a quick Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to my friends was in order.  Hopefully see you all soon.

Questions and Queries / Loss of power
« on: December 09, 2013, 03:56:02 pm »
A freind at work has a Peugeot 206 Sport Petrol 1.4v manual that currently looses power when driving along, and especially at roundabouts she finds it hard to get a biting point and rev's it a lot just to get it going, also the rev counter needle seems to yo-yo between 50 and 1500 rev's.

She's had to have the clutch replaced recently due to this problem.

Note this car has been in/out of the garage for the past 18 months to discover the problem, but to no avail so I offered your brains to see if you can help suggest any remedy's.

General Banter / Not impressed!
« on: September 21, 2013, 07:04:49 pm »
Went to the AACUK show up at Godmanchester this afternoon to see Tina & Dave, got there and drove in, only to be met by an unfriendly woman who wanted to know why we were there, so we say just here to see friends not camping, so she then says ok so your here for a couple of hours then.

Anyways sat chatting to Tina & Dave having a good catch up, and after about an hour and a half we get told that we'd been there two hours and we needed to go as they were locking the gates!

Nightmare what harm were we doing sat In a half empty field chatting to our mates! So not impressed, certainly does not make you feel welcome! Or want to go back tomorrow for the show day!

General Banter / New Searle house
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:38:28 pm »
After a lot of house/flat viewings and estate agents being a mare we have finally found a lovely little 2 bed house with a garage only 15 mins outside of Royston, so perfect for us location wise, the village is called Fowlmere and has a shop, pub, and a great Indian restaraunt.  We move on 18 April, so lots to get sorted.

General Banter / Bloodhound diary: Fin-tastic work in progress
« on: February 25, 2013, 04:09:52 pm »
This is crazy but fascinating!

A British team is developing a car that will be capable of reaching 1,000mph (1,610km/h). Powered by a rocket bolted to a Eurofighter-Typhoon jet engine, the Bloodhound SSC (SuperSonic Car) vehicle will mount an assault on the land speed record. The vehicle will be run on Hakskeen Pan in Northern Cape, South Africa, in 2013 and 2014.

Questions and Queries / Wedding car help required
« on: February 07, 2011, 04:49:44 pm »
Wondering if you guy's can help me with a problem I have.

I would love an American car to pick me up on my weddding day and take me and Shifty (who's giving me away) to the registry office then Paul and I onto the reception/evening do after the ceremony.

The problem I have is there is only room for family at the registry office as we both have quite large families, and I'd feel guilty asking if one of you could drive us and not be able to invite you into the actual ceremony.

Any suggestions, would be appreciated.

« on: February 03, 2011, 01:31:29 pm »
I have 4 x 16# Alloys for sale, one buckled due to hitting a pot hole, but the other 3 would be good for spares.

2 Alloys have standard tyres on size 205/50R16/91W, the other 2 alloys  have 2 brand new (as of 26/01/11) Marangoni tyres on - MG205/50W16VERSO which I paid £200 for.

Please PM me with any offers you have, looking to shift these by the end of the month.

Questions and Queries / Harley Davidson Help please....
« on: July 29, 2008, 07:21:03 pm »
My Mum has just had a new hip and she wants to use it to the full.  While she's been recouperating she's mentioned several times she would love to have a ride on a Harly Davidson Motorbike

As she will be 70 on Christmas Eve I would love to get her a ride on a Harley, this would be the best birthday present ever for her.

Anybody know somebody that has one? or a place that I can buy a voucher for a ride? I've had a scout round on the web but not found anything really, so any help would be appreciated.

Only selling as cannot afford to have 3 cars, it's neat & tidy good paint in dark blue metallic, no rust.

It drives smoothly with smooth gear changes, very roomy would make a good family car, as big boot and plenty of room in the front and back.  The bodywork is good and free from rust in a deep blue metallic, the leather seats are in very good condition in a pale beige, and are very comfy on long journeys.  I am a non smoker so whilst I have had the car it has never been smoked in.  I have part service history for the car, it currently has MOT until September 27 2008 and Tax until September 30 2008.

Work I have had done (receipts included):
Timing belt change
Timing belt roller bearing
Oil & filter change
Nearside front suspension arms
Offside front suspension arms

General Banter / NEW CAR
« on: April 06, 2008, 12:36:37 pm »
After much deliberation, and many phone calls and hours on the net, I decided that buying a new car was better and cheaper than fixing the Neon.  So off we went this morning to look at a Ford Focus Ghia, and I bought it.

Top of the range, new tyres, wheels & exhaust, engine bay is really tidy looked at the spark plug leads looked nice & clean the oil looked ok, no crap in the engine bay at all apart from usual dust.

Took her for a test drive the gears are nice and smooth and the acceleration was great, put a smile on my face, took some getting used to a manual after driving an auto but no probs.

There is slight chip in the windscreen but not awful or in the line of sight, the paint is chipped ever so slightly on the bonnet but nothing a good t cut wouldn't cover.  So I'm a happy girl and pleased with my choice.  Photo's will follow once the camera has charged.
