Thought I'd dust of the Guitar and start playing . . . or "playing" again . . .

Mine needed repairs so I thought in the interim I'd pick up a cheapie to get me going . . .

Note - My original is the one in the middle still needing a bridge.

The older I get the more I dig Rockabilly.

Just acquired Mike Ness's two solo albums (one more country, the other more Rockabilly) and they're fantastic.

I'll get a Gretsch one day soon.

. . . . And a double bass.

It was nearly more !!

It's not as bad as it looks . . . Got one of the Bass guitars then a better one came up so I had two.
Brought the Les Paul (copy) as I always wanted one but was used to the strat-style so got one of them, too, while I'm relearning . . . . the other strat is bits of my old guitar cobbled together with bits from eBay . . . I doubt it'll sound great, but I needed to at least get it working again . . . . Hence . . . Five.

I'm eyeing a double bass . . . . and a semi-hollow body / bigsby combo is simply too cool NOT to have.

There's plenty of space for more !

Although I'd better let the bank account recharge for a bit, first.  It's been an expensive week !

Note to self - Need an Amp for the Basses . . . .

How big of an amp do you want?

I *might* be getting rid of my gigging amp, it's a Hartke HA2500 rackmounted with a Korg DTR2000 in a Gator case. Comes with a 4x10 ally driver cab and a 1x15 ally driver cab.

I've got a Marshall Valvestate 65W for my Guitars so was looking for something similar for the Basses . . . . Especially as I've technically only just started playing again - a medium sized combo makes sense.

Ah yes, a little over compensating then, this is my old touring rig so I don't use it anymore.

Check out the 'kickback' range from Hartke, they do a little 10" ally driver one that was pretty freaking impressive when I last had a go on one. Get some great tones from ally cones, should really make your EB-3 sound great too!

Got the bridge/tremolo/whammy in today.   It's a hybrid of over six different guitars so I was expecting it to sound shite . . . . surprisingly enough it sounds good.  Really good.  And considering I was the one who soldered most of the connections (not really knowing what I was doing) there's no hissing either so I'm guessing I got everything in the right place.

Used the bridge from the Raptor and replaced it with a toploader hardtail set up . . . fitted new strings - just needs tuning.  Tomorrow !

Looking forward to spending some time trying to pick up somewhere near where I left off 15 years ago - and I was certainly never good, then, either.

How long has it been left with strings off?

Just curious as the truss rod may need adjusting to bring the action down without any fret buzz. There's only so much saddle height adjustment you can do on a well bent neck before you need to look at adjusting the truss. It may however be fine.

My brothers old Fender Squire strat had that issue when he stored it for a couple of years with no strings on it.

Good like though, get those finger tips bleedin'!
