'00 Chevy Blazer 4x4. Bristol - £1550
« on: February 14, 2012, 10:59:52 am »
For sale is my wifes Chevrolet Blazer. It is as follows:-

RHD - UK Vehicle from new supplied by Vauxhall

Year - 2000 - On a W plate

MOT   - 14/06/2012

Tax    - 31/03/2012

Mileage - 118,000

Engine - 4.3 V6 Vortec engine. Very, very good engine, used in many US vehicles. Parts very easily available from RockAuto.com. Will get 20mpg if driven normally, maybe a little more on a cruise, a little less if you overtake every person in front of you.

Gearbox - 4 buttons on dash - 4X4 Auto - Will stay in 2 wheel drive unless it loses traction, then will automatically use 4x4. 2 Wheel Drive - Permanently in 2 wheel, rear wheel drive. 4 wheel High - Hi ratio, 4x4 drive. 4 wheel Low - Low ratio 4x4 which works brilliantly.

Everything Else - Condition wise I would say it was better than good for it's age, but not showroom by any means. There are no major dents, but there are a few area which have been touched up with touch up paint pens. There are a few, small, scratches around it variously and one bit of chipped paint on the bonnet about the size of a 5p coin. Looks like a bit of bird poo!

There was 2 advisories on the last MOT, Tyres which obviously got sorted, and an 'Idler arm'. I haven't done the idler arm as I only do a couple of thousand miles per year in it, so it was going to get done with the next MOT. It is a cheap fix though (Sub £100).

It DOES NOT have a tow bar though...

Interior - Full leather with heated, electric seat up front. Extremely comfortable. Very large boot. Interior is in great condition with only a couple of things against it, The stereo is crap to say the least, but only the speakers. The CD radio works good. The electric wing mirrors don't fold in using the button anymore either.

That's pretty much it. It has been a good truck, I was not going to actively sell it, but after writing all the info up for a possible P/X, I thought I may as well copy it here and see what else was happening around at the moment.

Will take £1550 cash,

Or P/X something sensible for my family so must be a large size eg - Tourer etc. Something Yank like a Buick, Oldsmobile or lincoln or any other manufacturer from around the world really! Engine size not an issue but, as said, must be large enough for my family, even a double cab pick up would tick the right box!

I have attached pics as you can see.

Please reply with any questions or PM me here.

Why can't I edit the advert?

I wanted to add that I have stamped, service history up to and including 100,000 and the original receipt of delivery from H.R Owen in Chislehurst, Kent.

Also, that it has a Split opening tailgate with pullover load cover.

And - RCL with 2 sets of remotes and keys....

Looking on Wiki to see if it is belt driven or chain and can't find anything.... Anyone know where else I could look?

I'm 99.9% sure it's a chain.

Try Blazer / Vortec forums ?

Maybe look for 4.3 V6 vortec timing chains and cambelts  - see what you can't find   ?

Took a week before I even had a watcher on any of mine, then yesterday out of the blue, asking price. You never know your luck with these things. A lot like fishing. Really depends how smelly yer cheese is.

Im not fussed about selling, but a BMW came up for sale and I wrote the info out in an email to the bloke.... I thought, I may as well put the ads up and see. It's been a great truck to us and still looks great, But just thought I would see what else is happening.

The ad is honest IMO, including its faults.
