Bought as a daily driver whilst my van was off the road. Had a new alternator and had to adjust the idle, apart from that it was very reliable.

Been in judge judy's barn since september last year, when my van broke I needed a car asap, so I tried to get the Escort MOT'd but it failed and I didnt have the time to fix it so I just bought a car with T&T on instead.

It has a 'dry' sounding gearbox in 1st and 2nd, but there was plenty of oil in the box and it never really effected the car running at all. Just before I put it into storage in the barn it had covered 800 miles traveling around cornwall and back without any problems..

The inner doors are very rusted.. and the paintwork is pants.. but it is what it is... a BUDGY!! CHEEP CHEAP

A new windscreen was fitted for the MOT.

Details:

* 1296cc
* 65394 genuine miles backed up with MOTs and interia is very clean.
* Currently Sorn
* No Tax
* It was very economical returning about 320 miles to 30 quid!

MOT Fail Sheet:

Offside headlamp misted up
number plate bulb not working
nearside front shock negligible damping effect
offside front shock negligible damping effect
Near + offside rear wheel bearing rough when rotated
Welding needed outer sill - suspension component
offside front crossmember needs welding
nearside rear inner sill needs welding

For someone with a bit of time and welding skills, this could be an uber cheap parts runner..

The car DRIVES ok but for legal purposes I guess it would have to be trailered..

You'll probably find they won't give you anything if you leave the wheels (tyres) on.

If you offer to take the wheels away you may get a few quid.

The theory is that it costs them to depose of the rubber.

I have scrapped many cars. all I had to do was take it to the scrappys (take the V5 etc just in case, I took the wheels off, and they gave me cash. I then sold the wheels to them for a fiver as they knew A guy who wanted them.

I can get you A custard one if you want!

nope....

the CP scort is a 1.3 Kent pushrod engine

Chavscort is a 1.4 injected CVH OHC engine... totaly different
