Quoting: Roadkill
What are the sills like, matey ?
Thinking of having a butchers.
Just typed this out for someone else so I hope you dont mind if I yet again copy and paste it in for your benifit too..
Hey bud,
It is running - it actually starts on the key - no choke needed! We have driven it up and down our road without a problem and it has been running constantly for a good 15/20 mins while we were getting the temperature up to get the air out after changing the water / antifreeze..
The only thing we havent done is change the brake fluid - but we will throw in the brake fluid for you if you want it £20 quids worth..
Apart from the hole in the boot area of the shell, its pretty dam good really, an old gent used to do all the maintence to it and had replaced the whole floor in 2004 then hammerited / waxoiled it.. But obviously its been sitting since then so its not immacualte underneath but its great for its age - I cant see any major reasons for it to fail an MOT, just perhaps the tyres. But then you never know about braking / bearings / emmissions etc etc.. You know what old cars are like.
I guess you would be able to drive it where-ever, it seems quite a strong engine, box changes okay and pulls, and brakes stop when you stamp on the peddle - its got a disc brake conversion up front from a Ford Sierra I am told, so it stops a little better than normal Minors.
Once MOT'd I dont see why this couldnt be a cool little daily for short journys - which was the idea for us.. Best thing is, TAX EXEMPT! Oh yes..
Youre welcome to come take a look and a drive around the block - its a good laugh.. My number is <removed as requested> and its in Newport Pagnell. Cheers, Craig.
