mkb verses the world
« on: April 12, 2006, 04:47:49 am »
why are there so many  many people here jumping up and down without possibly looking at the bigger picture

the monster bbq is rarely gonna be welcome on a full campsites full of people and their cars,in the summer,im sure 4 or 5 hours of smoke aint a good thing?
the spring nats at bling had quite a bit of room but how many times will that be the case,

i will be interested if steve and dave of the avo  would allow you to take it to the lickhill manor weekend ?   well steve/dave?

or the aacuk will have it at gaydon ?

until you have proven that it will not be a problem at other venues im sure its unreasonable to assume its just a personal attack on the mkb!

you seem intent on the idea the mkb are continually victimised for no reasons,
but look at the comments you guys post on an open forum to wind up and intimidate members the aaci, will it be another club next?

how many other forums allow or need it it, the aacuk, avo, pontiac owners, mustang owners etc,
i dont see controversy on their main forums  !!
i would be interested to see others if they allow it just for comparison

comments such as "i persons 2 faced arselicking vindictive little grudge" dont seem to do any ones forum credibility any favours,

"jealousy is a nasty thing"," people are plain spiteful", surely comments in the heat of the moment?

just my veiw on things some of  of ya dont seem to do the mkb any favours,
would love too see ya all happy in wot ya do  and do it wiff ya ,

but surely there has to be some give and take on all sides, not that there should be sides in ya hobby, but thats life i suppose!
look forward to ya comments folks!
my views not the thought of  any other party!

Art,

We welcome your input but after speaking with billing managment today the only person who has a problem with this is Harry.

The fact of the matter is that he has not even bothered to come and look at this thing. All his comments have been made on 2nd hand observations.

The BBQ will go any where we go as its not just a tool for cooking it is also storage for our tent and other things as well as being a promotional tool.

As for the AVO they have asked if they can do an article for their club magazine detailing the build up and team work. I think its just a shame that the AACI couldnt of embrased this for what it was a BBQ and nothing else.

We never built this for anyone other than our selves, we never asked for a BBQ build off. It was built for a bit of fun to show what a group of like minded people could do.

the lack of controversy on other forums should tell you where the real problem lies mate..

you can only walk around with your eyes closed for so long..

with the exception of ONE single person, the reception has been absolutely fantastic, and have already had requests to bring it to other events.

We've offered to modify the BBQ as requested/required.
We've offered to supply Risk Assessments (as recommended by the HSE).
We've offered to cover PI insurance to cover any unlikely damage as a result of the BBQ.
We've offered alot.

As for the other side ?

As it's used for storage and promotion I don't see why not. You could take it anywhere just like any other trailer.

The only possibly issue is whether it's actually lit and used as a bbq. And personally, I don't see any problem with that either.

as its considerably safer than a regualr BBQ, there is NO safety issue.

that was simply trumped up by someone wishing to pee on our bonfire..

no, only one forum where that happens.. its also worth noting that there is very little need for moderation an anythin other than one forum

its interesting how the AAC UK has calmed right down now, and AVO has never been involved, and all the better for it..

my eyes have really been opened to the true course of events recently..

If Billing have no problem with it (and it's their camping ground) then as far I see it the problem lies with H who has already stated on the forum that as far as he is concerned the MKB are not part of the AACI and no longer represent it in an official capacity.

The BBQ unit itself (ignoring the trailer) is no bigger than a alrge outdoor family sized BBQ you can buy in most stores.

If people he considers as friends had brought that BBQ in there would have been no problem.
