Steve in northampton does it, he did my astro (£40) and dads tahoe (£30)  the other month..

just dont see any advantage in binning the system, there is no penalty to keeping it there, but if you are stuck in a traffic jam, you might just appreciate havingi t.

as it is now, its not hurting anything ,but you still have the option of recomissioning it later, or you can get it gassed for the price of the idler pulley..
