Any suggestions on where I can get a 15/16x1inch offset ring spanner today?
Of the places I have tried, most don't do it, 2 can get it for me tomorrow, and one of those is as a set.
This is driving me up the wall.

Unfortunately yes, sort of.
I can pop out locally, but not as far as you.

O.K.
Have you tried putting a socket over the nut, then clamping the socket (VERY tight) with some mole-grips . . . Then put the allen key through the socket ?
Cowboy I know but it does occasionally work . . . .

If it's old, you could grind opposing flats on the side of the socket and use a (adjustable) spanner instead of grips . . . That works, to.

Yes.
and then no.
Found an even older socket (1/2 whitworth anyone?) that fitted. Gorund it off, gor a decetn grip with adjustable spanner too.
Will the fecker budge?
I'll be probably be bringing it back tonight, I don't want to try forcing it too much when it ain't mine. I'll give you a call when I done at the MOT station.
