General Banter / Ice hockey Trick Goal (Yannic Dube)
« on: March 21, 2010, 10:17:05 am »
As mentioned yesterday FUBAR I said I would post this for ya...

The first vid is of Vannick Dube performing his famous 360 penalty trick shot in an actual game.
Its a bit to quick to see what he does but the second vid has a couple of slow motions of it.

This guy has some serious skills.

Enjoy...

General Banter / Alton Towers trip (Themed)
« on: February 23, 2010, 09:05:22 pm »
In my finest Clark Gabel accent....

Whato young scaly's.... as mentioned the other day (Vicky's B'day Drinks) I would like to start organising the annual MKB Alton Towers peregrinate.

One would expect this to be around mid to late august time to take advantage of the splendid weather......

There is however one stipulation...... This years jolly is to be themed.....

We have two themes to choose from..... "Chap" or "Britches and Hoes"..... See pictures/links below.....

I'm getting this in early to give everyone a chance to contact their Taylor (Charity shop) and cobble them selves an outfit together.

This will not optional people, like crappy "early 2000's" night clubs you will be refused entry if you're not wearing the correct attire......

For those who are interested names on a telegram or simply add your name below..... also include which theme you would prefer.

Anywho, cant spend all day dilly dallying.... off down the officers club to chat up the new filly behind the bar.... what.... what....

Tally Ho...

General Banter / Fake break calliper kit
« on: January 07, 2010, 07:29:58 am »
How much of a looser do you have to be to do this to your car.

I've seen fake break disks to cover up drum breaks but this is pathetic.

General Banter / Laser cutting
« on: June 23, 2008, 09:39:19 am »
Doth anyone know where I can get some Laser cutting done for a reasonable price or at all for that matter.

Am trying to get some exhaust flanges made so I can finally get my exhaust sorted.

would like to get them made out of approximately 5mm thick mild so I can weld to them (cant weld stainless).

Failing all the above just some 5mm thick stock that I can cut and grind myself would be useful, cant seem to get hold of any though?

All suggestion welcome, Thanks

General Banter / 93 year old flips car whilst reversing
« on: April 18, 2008, 10:28:09 am »
My apologies if I tread on anyone's toes but I personally think that there should be age breaks to test peoples ability to control a vehicle when they reach a certain age, say every 5 years from 60years old and onwards.

If you cant control the vehicle (safely) you shouldn't be on the road.

Although inexperienced young drivers and idiots (boy racers) account for a larger percentage of RTA's some of the worst driving I have ever seen has been by what can only be described as OAP's, proven by this story.

General Banter / M25 speed scamera activation
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:53:31 am »
Just received this from a friend at work, thought it might be of interest to people. Very rarely go on the M25 myself but for the benefit to others read below,

The Metropolitan Police Service have said that as and from the 15th February 08 all the Speed Cameras in the Variable Speed Limit section of the M25 near Heathrow Airport (JCT 10-15) are going Digital and the activation limit is being lowered.

They are currently the older film type cameras and Set at 90mph when the Variable Limit Signs are not in operation.
The new digital cameras are going to be set at the normal 10% 0f the speed limit + 2mph (80mph + and your taking a risk basically) when the signs are not in use i.e. national speed limit. I can't confirm the activation limit when the signs are set (variable limits showing) but believe  it would be the same 10% + 2mph of the speed shown by the sign at that time.

Please pass this on to anyone you know.
I hope this saves a few of you getting points on your licence!!!

General Banter / Engine drawing pack
« on: August 20, 2007, 09:13:18 am »
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a full set of drawings for an engine. I've spent a bit of time looking on the internet but cant seem to find anything.

Was looking at modeling an engine on ProEngineer so I can get a stereolith made at work. Just for the crack.

Any engine will do, although it would be nice to do one I actually have an interest in like a Pontiac v8,  Toyota 3S GTE or an Alfa Romeo flat 4 16V engine, but like i said all are welcom bike, car, aero, marine etc....

(Preferably not a fiat Ferrari engine though)

Thanks,

Computers and Games / Missile jumping extreme
« on: May 09, 2007, 09:51:23 am »
Some of the 1st person shoot em up (quake 3 etc....) game playing people on here may have come across missile/photon jumping.

This is where you fire a missile are the ground underneath yourself as you jump, the resulting effect sends you flying across the playing arena much further than you could by just jumping. This also takes of a lot of your health.

check out this footage of people doing just that. Please note this is not that easy to do at all and to get the timing right every time like these people do is incredibly hard.

Enjoy,

General Banter / RX lotus 7
« on: March 27, 2007, 07:07:03 am »
As mentioned to a couple of people recently I was sent the link to a kit car project that used a RX7 13b rotary engine in a lotus 7 style (replica) chassis.

For those who don't know me to well to build an RX7 engined "Caterham" like this has been a dream of mine for many years and hopefully I will get the time and money some day to do it.

As mentioned yesterday Philo it is a very fast car although I didn't realize these were theoretical values not actual. Would be nice to see what she could really do.

Enjoy,

Projects / Gouda wheel reconditioning
« on: January 26, 2007, 08:32:09 am »
As mentioned the other day two of my tyres got cut (see general\tyre slashing fun).

This has now given me the opportunity to re-con the wheels as I originally intended.

Just thought I would post a couple of pictures of the progress and write a few words letting people know how easy it is.

Below is a couple of pictures of the first wheel before and after.
To remove all the crud and original paint took approximately 6 hours and is now ready to be painted this weekend.
The pictures don't really do the wheel justice as they were taken on the mobile but rest assured they were really bad to start of with and now has an almost polished finish to them.

Enjoy

The wheel before with the tyre on in the garage

Close up of one of the spokes before

Close up of one of the spokes after the tyre had been removed

Close up of the spoke after most of the crud and paint had been removed

Wheel after all crud and paint has been removed

Will post a picture of it painted soon, then will be getting on with the next one.

General Banter / Tyre slashing fun
« on: January 11, 2007, 01:46:13 pm »
Unfortunatly whilst i was in the land of nod last night somone saw fit to slash both the tyres on the right hand side of the 2.

I thought these things only happened in bad areas, seemingly not.

Aswell as the small sum of £200 for two new tyres i also have to take the day of work as the tyres on the back of the gouda are a funny size and all the garages i rang need a day to get them in.

What an ba5tard, not sure what i would do to the little f*ckers that did it if i had of caught them, i dont think they would be a prety site to look at after.

Two other people down the road had theirs done to, all in all probably £500 worth of damage on my street and for what, Nothing.

Let this be a warning to all of you out there who park on the street.

General Banter / New Years eve celibrations, whats everyone doing?
« on: December 26, 2006, 10:57:54 pm »
Was just wondering what everyone was doing for their new years eve celibrations.

Was thinking myself going over to either Stoney Stratford for the traditional night out of drinking (and random people hugging in the street) or going down to London for the day and then staying to watch the fireworks on the Thames.

Would anyone else be up for either of these?

Also if we went to London we could maybe stay there for the night then go to the Ace Cafe hand over meet in the morning. This would require finding a floor to sleep on at some one's house or getting lucky
