Cool by me, Debs will be happier as it will mean a shorter round trip (We're taking Alex to CMK to see the big display outside John Lewis.)

er where is he planning on sitting? even with the seats down in the chavscort it only just fits on the diag and you have to have the front seats moved forward

I'll go to wherever the crane is.  The 2nd visit will only be necessary if it won't all fit when there are 3 of us in the car.

its almost 1.7m tall and weighs 80kgs, it might well be worth contacting your local hire centre as by the time you have driven a round trip the fuel costs might be more than a rental

I take it that's the longest piece.  I can have a measure to see what length I can get in.

Let me rephrase that

I'll measure to see how much space there is when the seat is folder down.

OK, I've measured the boot spare of the hire car and I am confident that the crane would fit in OK, even with Alex.

Problem now is, we're getting the CRV back today, so I'll be in that, and haven't been able to measure it.  I'd be very suprised if it was smaller than a megane estate, so I'll take the risk anyway.

So, where am I going to need to go for it?
