Not seen it at any of the Bedford meets

Must have high miles for £4,995 - is it a misprint ??

Not to worried about high mileage as its only for a bit of fun (can't turn up at the Fancott in the merc again) so long as its sound in body.
What would be high mileage anyway? 100k, 120k?

Right, its got 180,000 kilometres on the clock (111,000miles), imported from Florida about 4 years ago by the family thats owns it now. He works in Bedford but lives in Newmarket where the pick up is used. Seems an honest enough guy.

My 3.4L V6 'Maro had done 127,000 and was still pretty darn good.

It's still going strong now with well over 130,000 on it.

The Vortecs are supposed to be sweet bits of kit.

210,000 on the astro and going strong..

£4995 does sound extremely cheap, i' expect morte like 7 - 8k for that year - facelift trucks with the vortec engine go for substantialy more than the TBI pre 96 ones, because they are much better..

i'd not be worried about anything under 250,000 miles.

i can vouch (as can chris and ryan) that the 350 vortec pulls like a train!

ok, here's some stats on the 350 V8 silverado..

i'd double check it is a V8, because they used the 4.3 V6 ifrom the astro / S10 as well.. there wasn't a 4.6 option of either engine though...

Guy turns out to be the sellers version of a tyre kicker

Had to chase him today -again - as he was supposed to call me this morning to arrange for me to look at the truck. Told him I'd give him the full asking price if it was as he described, not bothered whether it was v6 vortec or whatever else he thought it was as long as the body and interior were in good condition. Told him I'd bring all the money with me in folding stuff.

Then he calls me back and says it was sold yesterday - this being the day he couldn't possibly sell it to me on because of 'business commitments' - what a tosser

there has to be more to it than that... .perhaps the truck was dodgey in some way?

its a sellers dream opportunity, full asking price and cash waiting.. there would have to be an extremely good reason (in his eyes) to back out, wonder what was wrong with it....

what a tool........

He told me on Friday that he had someone sniffing at it who wanted to part ex an old 60's car which he really didn't want to do and preferred cash. I think he knows he cocked up on the description - I'll bet it gets advertised again in a couple of months
