I would go for round ones
That's just, like, uh, soooo childish. (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)

Tyres, White walls?
O.K, go on . . . .
Quoting: FUBAR
Well that was the extent of my knowledge on the subject but Graeme went into further detail...
Yup, but wheels.
Eg. Pop on to Northants tyres website and have a butcher's at their stuff they supply.
Tyres wear out and can be changed - But the wheels are the important bit !!!

i think she'd look nicer on white band rather than white wall..
Good point.
Full white wall were popular on the Early 50's Caddy's,
White Band were more a 60's thing . . .
So we're probably looking for a happy medium.

check out the steel smoothies
I Think Smoothies look great on 40's & 50's pick-ups also on 40's cars (like Willy's).
Not sure they'd look the part on the Caddy, though. (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/dontknow.gif)

well, they aint cheap, but they aren't incredibly expensive..
Not bad. £126 each.
(I'm thinking 15x7's)

something around 235 60 15
Maximum I'd say.
I Think stock rims are 15x6 or 15x7.
Maybe then a 215-235 ?

Problem with width is getting the wheels on the back.
The skirts are non-removeable so it normally required deflating the tyres to get the wheels on !!!
Not a problem when its bagged

Not so much of a problem. But those skirts are VERY low, so I think it'll still be an issue - just no where near as bad.

Nearly all the pics on google image are steels
Nearly all are in the States where rust isn't as much of an issue.
I'm reluctant to go for (Chrome) steelies as i don't want to be one of these people who have to constantly polish and clean their wheels . . . Or take them off for winter altogether.

Yup, Stock Hub caps. I've a complete set but fancy something different.
And that "Blue Car" is a '58 Caddy !!! (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)

I'd go to town on a refurb on the originals, maybe look as some form of mild customisation on them.
With '59 tail lights attached to the center (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/up.gif)

The turquiose 58 Caddy in my opinion is exactly how a car of that stature should be dressed up to kill
That is the exact same colour as mine (I think) before 48 years of weather got to it.
It's all complete though and very unmolested.
