Yeah, American cars scare alot of people over here.
No its the same box as fitted to the silvercloud and thats the rebuild cost of that box no matter what car it comes from
Quoting: FUBAR
cos its a Roller I suppose.
No its cause the box is a bastad to re build, its not like any other auto box and is a bitch to setup as it has 2 bands that actualy move on the change

As soon as i get a price from art im gonna probably ship my trans across to him.
Shipping would be about $600 for a round trip
And that works out cheaper than...

if i use the th350 trans i need to
dsesign and fabricate an adaptor plate, thes space the flexplate and then create some kind of rear motor mount.
?

And that works out cheaper than...
possably i would also need to figure out how to get all the gears on the th350 as the shift patern on the hydromatic is completly different

Does the box still shift up/down and kick down automatically if a "push botton" kit is fitted ?
i guess so as thats a different linkage

yup, they also do a paddle shift but its another $500 (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/shame.gif) pretty sure titsy could build it for less

Have you spoken to Dick at GM Automatics in Dagenham. He rebuilt the trans on my 59 Olds (4 speed TurboHydramatic thingy) about eighteen months ago, cant remember the exact figure but i'm sure it was around a grand. you can usually haggle him down a bit if you pay readies too.
No i havnt andy, you got a number for him. Although im still waiting for Art Carr to come back to me with a price for the parts
