You wouldn't have been able to use those straps with Camaro springs, that's for sure !

Good fix. (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/cowboy.gif)

that's so dangerous its not even funny....

we did a test at uni with a low rate spring to simulate a spring gauge breaking and the spring flying out... fuk me... you wouldn't want to be in the same postcode as one of those things, if you catch it in the face be prepared for re-constructive surgery and to have a face like the back of a bus after, in the chest, definately punctured lung possibly death.. in the balls... well... thats gonna tear them both right off

springs, like lightning and nuclear bombs are on of those things you just dont fuk with.. (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/down.gif)

..and by the pictures taken after it went wrong.

Commendable effort to make do and all that but shit, I do some daft stuff like inflating race tyres with butane gas, and dropping the transbrake at 5000rpm while the cars on axle stands to test the nitrous but strapping a spring? thats just plain dangerous; one slip of the ratchet strap and its all over - fingers, teeth, eyes, bollocks, they suddenly all become optional extras.

Heh you lot stop taking over my job (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/rtfm.gif)

Would be interesting to work out what the loads are (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/chiny.gif)

Say the car weighs 1,600kg and 500kg is loaded onto each front wheel to compress the spring ?
Each of the two straps would only have to be rated at 250kg to hold the load, those straps look more like 1,000kg ones ??
Admittedly if the hooks or straps slid you'd still be fooked (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/down.gif)
